BIOGRAPHY

Alison is a multidisciplinary artist primarily focusing on watercolour, gouache, and acrylic painting and illustration.  She also incorporates linocut printmaking, collage, mixed media and embroidery into her practice.  She is interested in art as spiritual practice and stays true to traditional art making processes.  She is an Eclectic Witch and meditation practitioner.  She loves to explore in her work themes of ancestral folk practice, myth and story, the beauty of the natural world and the cosmos, witchcraft, alchemy, esotericism, magick, feminism, punk rock subculture, dreams, psychedelics, depth psychology and the archetypes of the collective unconscious.  Alison follows the Celtic Pagan Wheel of the Year and is a member of the Scottish, Irish, and Welsh Diasporas.  In her art her style draws inspiration from elements of Celtic art, Surrealism, Symbolist Art, The Pre-Raphaelite painters, the Golden Age Illustrators, and the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements.
